Just acquired a nice little Echo CS-2511T, anybody know where I can pick up a little dog that will bolt on there? The ones I have off of an old Husq 338xpt or the 201t do not match up to the bolt pattern….

Just some advice as a fellow 2511t owner...these saws really benefit from a muffler mod. I split mine in half and gutted the inside, but you can buy a catless muffler from Echo. That's probably the easiest method as these mufflers are paper thin and a PITA to weld together.

Even after all that, I still enlarged the outlet and made a new deflector.

The final thing, was getting the arbormax lite bar and narrow kerf 3/8lp chain from Bailey's. It's a nonsafety chain and I was able to up-size to a 16" bar.

After those mods, it's a totally different saw...it's almost completely replaced my 201tcm for climbing work. I even do removals with it, despite my original intention of it just for trimming.

Thanks for the advice! Any chance you can snap a picture of the modified outlet and deflector? I’m relatively new to modifying saws.

I love the 2511 so far. The biggest advantage I’ve found is reduced fatigue in the tree. With as light as this thing is it’s easy to run all day…nimble, fast, agile…it lacks power in the big cuts but that’s just fine. Also it holds about a cup of gas but somehow makes it through my big Doug-fir removals.

The dogs for a Stihl MS 170 fit great if you enlarge one of the holes. They're bigger than the Echo dogs, and non-Stihl knock-offs are cheap on ebay.

I like the WCS dog, as it's a bit stouter than some of the other options, yet only $16.

I thought I deleted them, but I did find these pics of my muffler mod process:

Finally got around to it…simply drilled a dozen 3/32 holes into the muffler, thru both plates. What a difference! Whole new saw, doesn’t bog down at all, buried the bar all day yesterday in a fir removal, we’re in business now 👍🏻
