Familiar with most maintenance issues with saw... however, the clutch drum has finally worn off (just the outside edge) and needs to be replaced..

found part on-line, but do not have a service manual for saw and can not figure out "how-to" remove the clutch assembly... to get at the drum...

any help is greatly appreciated....

thanks........ J

There may well be a special tool to remove that clutch, but I don't have it and have replaced several. Remove sparkplug and insert a length of rope into the cylinder. This effectively becomes a stop and provides resistance so as to loosen the clutch.

The clutch itself has LH thread, so clockwise will loosen it. With rope in cylinder and play removed clockwise, carefully use a punch on a flat surface and tap the clutch loose. Penetrating oil on the threads is probably a good idea.

Grease the bearing and reinstall in reverse order. When tightening, it need only be snug.
