Now the 084 you have... it is tempting.
I really don't have the bucks.... and really don't need a giant saw (yet).

The serial# is 116489782. I believe the plastic is dated 1985, with an L stamped on it.

Not this one Unfortunately, I have WAY more in it than what I paid. I think I'll do ok on it though. I've got my fingers crossed.

Is there any truth to the letter stamped in the sundial looking emblem being a date code on the plastic?

How about the following?

084 - 133978904

066 RL - ________18515. This is the one with the corner broken off and repaired.

That you cannot do. The drive point will shear or break off. Either needs the old style 4 finger drive or the new drum.

Some truth as to when the plastic was molded, but has little to do with when the saw was made.
