Whats everyone cary for firewood saws? I take my 2138 jred, ms290, ms362, and 385xp. But I mainly use my 362

Usually pack the ms440, ms361 and the ms250. If i'm working on something big or have a lot of noodling to do, i'll take the 066. The other day i went out to clear paths and shooting lanes and packed fiskars and stihl hand tools....

I've got an ms260 that I use for limbing and such. I usually fell and buck with either my 372xpw or the ms441C. I like about any 70cc saw.

Been using MS 250 and MS 261 alot but today I used the MS 290/390 :wink2:

I put a 20" 3/8" setup on for today

The trees and blow down trees I have been cutting are 24" dia. and smaller :msp_biggrin:

normally i use my 660 with a 20 inch bar but some days ill use either my 026 or ms290 depends on my mood and how much gas i have with me the 660 gets a lil thirsty

husky 450 rancher/20", and 181 SE/24". Also go a couple other smaller saws that I use now and then as well.

I've been looking at the 441cm and the 460/461 for a while now, just can't make up my mind which one. Ive been leaning more towards the 460 but dont know

This 69 year old uses a ms211 with pro chain mostly. The ms270 w/ 20" bar and chain for felling when it's needed. The light weight is easier on me even though it takes a little longer in the cut, but I'm in no hurry these days.

My go to saw is a 695 Shindaiwa with a 24" bar.

I always pack a 2nd saw no matter what, but it varies on the day.

the first saw in my truck is my 066 with 32" bar i back up to the slashing pile and start noodling all the big stuff i cannot lift in the bed. then i take out the 440 with 20" and buck up the smaller stuff to fill in the voids. i often wonder what the loggers think the next day as there is a carpet of noodles all over the place.

i've been having the same exact problem! I'm leaning towards the 441rcm right now because everyone raves about it. I'd like to run a 461r and see what thats all about. I'm probably going to buy a used 460 somewhere down the line just to have one and also for backup and proberly would keep it in my truck

I really don't need a 460 since I have the 385, but my cad will get the best of me. Im just waitin to find a used 460 for the right price

Funny this topic surfaced.Today as a matter of fact I started with my Shindiawa 352 that was followed buy my Stihl 028, and finally the old "Mongo"Stihl 041.The 041 has 160 PSI compression and can still make the chips soar.Ken

It depends on whether or not I know what size wood I'm getting into.....unfortunately, I usually have no idea until I show up on site. So in that case I take a bunch. MS200 rear handle, 026, 036, 046, 066, and maybe even an 084 if the landowner says the wood is "huge". But their opinion of huge is usually 28".

Last time I showed up, the wood was all small and I used the MS200 90% of the time and broke out the 036 for a few cuts.

The time before that, I knew I was cutting where other weekend warriors had already given up, so I knew the wood was going to be decent size and all the small stuff would have already been hauled off. So, I just brought a couple 046's and 066's on that trip.
