Good deal on heavy duty H beam for splitter

Check out this ad for H beams if you are looking to build a heavy duty splitter and live in MA http://worcester.craigslist.org/mat/609294036.html
I paid $250.00 for a 10' section of H beam that was only 1/2" thick steel a few years ago when building mine. Seems like a good deal you could buy a 16' and make 2 splitters.

Too big.



A 16' section of that would weigh approx 3500-4000lbs.



Im 400 miles away and if it were 33% smaller I would be on it.

While I agree it is too big, it isn't nearly as big as that!

Actually, the closest piece of steel to the dimensions he shows is a "W14x120" This means it weighs 120# / ft. Therefor, a 16' section would weigh just under 2000#.
