Guess what this wood is?

Got some more mystery wood. Its pretty heavy and dense. Fairly straight grained. It kind of pops like red oak but I know its not that. Not sure if its a white oak or something like that. Pretty sure its not hickory, the grain looks more like oak. Some of the end cuts are really dark, the heartwood is almost blackish in color. These pictures show it more brown but some are really dark.

It's definitely an oak. Can't tell from my tiny phone screen which one but bur is a good guess.

looks like oak. There are so many kinds of oak it's not always easy to say which one.

Sure looks like an Oak of some kind. I would say it's NOT a Red Oak but maybe a Pin, Bur or some other species of Oak.
If you had the leaf or acorn it would be so easy to distinguish.
Nice grain and should be great firewood in about two years.

It ain't walnet and once cut it is just firewood, no prize anyway unless big and straight!!!!!

I agree with burr oak, heavy ridged bark, and in the white oak family.
