Homelite xl 800 fuel mix

Mike Acres site says 16:1. I assume that was with old SAE 40 oil. Generally I get some 40:1 pre-mix I run in other saws and haven't had any issue. Do I need to mix some special thicker stuff for this one since its a bit older vintage? This one is one of the first ones off the line in I think 1966. Suggestions appreciated!

I'm running 40:1 in my old and new stuff. Tried 50:1 in my old ones but got kind of worried. I would run 32:1 but don't like having two different mixes.

What do ya know about an xl 800? Its an 82 cc saw. So I think its a similar engine to a xl 925. I know 32 to 1 is what is reccomended for them.

Not much, son in law just picked, what some of my friends on here tells me, it a xl923, 81cc. Haven't worked on may homies but with him starting to collect them, guess I've got to learn. I'm more of a Poulan guy.
