How many cut more than they have to just to run a saw?

I could probably get by supplying myself in firewood with two or three trips to the wood lot, but I enjoy running a saw so much I cut as often as I can, even if I don't need the wood. Somebody else needs some so it doesn't go to waste.

I love to run saws, I sell firewood part time and with the money i make after fuel for the saws and delivery costs goes towards purchasing a new saw. That way i can keep upto date with the new toys available. I dont pay myself to cut and split so that helps future purchases

I have too much firewood by far. I busted my rear all summer because I had an abundance of Oak. For most of the last 3 months 60's and 40's. I only get one call a week. Thank goodness Oak has a great shelf life. Thanks

I cut mostly to run my saws and make burn piles. Pine firewood is at a billion **** ton level here thanks to the bark beetle. Pile rounds and watch em burn.

guilty as charged....I go around the other cabins in my area and help older neighbors cut their trees back or cut up there firewood just to play with my toys

They usually feed me or break open a bottle when we are done so its also a way of socializing with them.

I love it too! I don't even use wood heat. I just cut firewood to help others and run the saws.

I have to blame it on the traumatic brain injury that the VA has paid disability for decades. I lack any ability to know how much is really enough. If I had the ability to predict this weather I wood have cut a lot different over the last three or four years and bid on a couple of splitters at auctions in the same time frame.If I wood try to act in the future the way I wood have in the past I'm fairly certain that warm winter's ahead will bring creatures that eat fire wood to my place.
My attitude ain't the best but I've worked with it for a while.
