I have been buying fatwood for years to start my fires, but I always thought it was only located at the base of the tree, down by the roots. I believe that's where the stuff you buy in the store comes from, but I didn't know you could easily find it in pretty much any pine tree to use for starting fires in the woods. I was bumping around on Youtube and found a video called Fatwood for Beginners. It's a pretty good how to on finding and using fatwood to start a fire.
