Husky 365 Opinions Please!!!

Could any of you good people give an honest review of this saw as I'm thinking of buying one with a 15 inch bar and a 24 inch bar.

Go for it. I upgraded mine to a 372, but it is a well built, well respected saw.
I like the way it feels, although I do wish the suspension was a bit stiffer.

Go for it. I upgraded mine to a 372, but it is a well built, well respected saw.
I like the way it feels, although I do wish the suspension was a bit stiffer.

I run mine with a 24 inch bar that has a beam cutter attached. It does just fine.

It would probably get by. I've only run mine after the upgrade, and only run a 20" on it. Blew through 14-16" hedge like nobody's business though.

I have only used up to a 20" on the 365. Had it burried in birch, and it came out the other side, just not fast.

If going for the 65cc, stick with 18" bars, if you NEED 20" bars then go for the 70cc. Too much weight for the power simply isn't true, the 365 is balanced, VERY grunty/powerful, smooth, and with a great torque curve. Ask anyone who has used one for any period of time. 365 and the 18" setup is perfectly matched, and it's lighter, cheaper and more economical than the 20"+ 70cc setup. 365 motor runs unstressed yet still has a howling top-end too. Simply drill three 8mm holes in the muffler and you'll be getting stock 70cc performance (at the expense of extra noise) also they're only less than a pound heavier but make the prima-donna 60cc stihls feel peaky and feeble by comparison

I sure like mine. I run a 20 an 24 inch bar on it. It may not have the power of the 372 but it great in it's own right. Lots of torque. Chews through ash and red elm like nothing. Very happy with it. I find myself using it more and more over my 346 just because it gets the job done faster and with little fuss. I'm no pro, but I do cut about 10 cords a year.

What would happen if I did that to my 288xp? Its 10 years old and seems pretty lethargic these days?

Does the 288 have alot of hours? Maybe you could re-ring it. Check compression, if it's low throw in a set of rings, put a couple of holes in the muffler and retune the carb. That should put some zip back into it.

365 rocks! I've had mine for 8 years now and cut between 16-20 Full cord per year, the ole girl has'nt skipped a beat. I run a 20" bar on mine and have never seen a lack of power in any kind of wood. The power to weight factor to me is null......Sharp Chain and put it to the wood , How much weight you holdin? Set it and forget it. Go for it... definitely a great saw!

How do you upgrade the 365 oldsaw?

Replace the 365 piston and cylinder with a 372. Mine had very low compression when I got it.
