Ive read about using the 272 piston in a 372bb cylinder on here.it seems like it would have different transfer timing cause of the windows.i need more info on this build.thanks

Piston windows have nothing to do with port timing. That's a function of the piston crown height.

the piston skirts are not as long on the 272 piston i believe but the crown height is taller. i've never done it but i assume it's not a mod for the average saw hack. i have done alot of thinking on the 266 piston in the 50mm jug though. either way. one thing for certain is the squish band would need to be cut or piston crown. after that whether it free ports or not and how much the added intake duration will affect it is another story. i have heard it can be done though.
