i run husky oil in my stihls because theres no stihl dealer here. i havent found anything to complain about. my mix is 40/1 and seems to work very well for me

Here's my two cents. I use Stihl Ultra mixed at 40:1 except in the summer I add the same amount of Coopertone to the mix so when I'm cutting I'm basted all over and never get a sunburn. You can imagine the fog that I'm cutting in.

I was running ultra but now i'm trying amsoil to save a few bucks. So far it seems just as good if not better.

when in a pinch try vegetable oil, its cheap and many rd side stores have it

I had always used Husky oil since 1994 with no problems utill this month I recently switched to Ultra....sure hope it's a good as they claim. I would like to think I'm using the best oil for my saw's as possible.:greenchainsaw:

Ultra smells really nice, that's why I use it. Especially when bucking up cherry or other nice wood.
Never used xp oil but there's no reason not to use it in a chainsaw. I'd be curious as to whether it smells as good as Ultra- maybe somebody that's used both can fill us in.

If the smell is important to you you should try an oil with castor in it. I used this back in the 60's in my 2 stroke bikes and there isn't anything else like it. Maxima 927, various Klotz and others perform well and nothing prevents seizures like castor oil. It can be a mess though if you use the wrong proportions. I am now using Motul 800 2T and it is excellent and is one of the best for anti wear properties. Plus it's red and easily seen in the mix and smell:clap:s good.

Stihl Ultra here, love it. Tastes great also, awesome in a mixed drink.<a href='' title=''><img src='http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0036.gif' alt='' border='0'></a>

What is your favorite mix? I like Henry Weinhard's rootbeer, a dash of ultra and a cherry floating on top! Seems to keep me regular!:) Haven't come up with a recipe for the Motul oil yet.

I've run alot of the Maxima 927 Castor Oil. Good stuff and as mentioned it has a nice smell. Lately I've been using some Stihl HP Super that I bought a 6 pack of. I run 40:1 in everything.

heck theyre all probly contracted out made in the same plant along side eachother, something like that wouldnt suprise me at all.

Yep.
The echo power blend and husky xp are the same oils just different packaging and pricing. Like I said earlier, there's weeks I'll go through a couple six packs of ultra in the 2 gallon mixes and with the cost of it now it's getting pricey. yet I don't wanna sacrifice the synthetic so i'm trying the amsoil thing which I figure should run me about half. I just got it in on friday so I haven't tried it in anything but my stihl yard equipment and it sure liked running on it.
