Husqvarna 181SE Questions

does anybody know if the old Husky 181SE came with a rev limiter? my saw is a 1984 model, around 14,000RPM i think it was, it starts acting like it has an early rev limiter in it.. just wont crank up any faster.. would a 288 coil/module improve things any or just be the same deal?

before i get yelled at.. this is going to be a race only saw, not a woods saw.

I dont think 181 had a rev limiter,but 288 has one but i cant tell at which RPM it comes on.
