Hi folks ,
I recently purchased a Husqvarna 365 special and was wondering what length of bar works best with this saw , 20 or 24 I believe there’s a 24 on it now , haven’t had a chance to try it yet , was thinking it may be a bit slower with the 24 cutting mostly yellow birch. Also any reviews/experiences with the saw and recommended mods if any?

Thanks

24inch works best for me primarily bucking wood laying on the ground.
Saves bending the back. If i primarily used it felling or cutting elevated wood I may prefer 20in advantages.
Not the mightiest saw w/24inch but it's quite adequate pulling through most wood buried with a sharp chain.

Well it ranges from probably 18” to 30”

When you have wood that is 20" or less...the 24" bar will pull the same as a 20". In large wood there is an efficiency of having the longer bar which might off-set the slower cutting.

I'd just run the 24" unless I found it poorly balanced or otherwise awkward .

On the other hand, if I didn't have any bar for that saw, I'd buy a 20"...but that's just personal preference and not about cutting speed.
