None of you guys are getting me, and it's kind of insulting! I have used a tremendous amount of strength, with no clutch and drum installed, and the clutch cover on the damn saw using the hand guard. For gods sake...I touched the top handle with the hand guard, and it still didn't release. There is no way that it takes that much force to release the brake! Why is it so hard for you all to comprehend...something is wrong? I can apply, and release the brake all day on any of my other saws....the brake mechanism is not working.....even if this is the first time in all the land.
Now I have gotten to the point that I need a new hand guard..mine is too chewed up now....it slips with the clutch cover bolted on, and I'm just gonna buy a new clutch cover...because the brake mechanism...is screwed!
