The best I could do.

It has that appearance all the way to the base. It's consistent.

Thanks Rick.

Colour rendition is hard on a digi cam, isn't it. ;)

If it is four stroking out of the cut and not bouncing wildly off the limiter it'll be fine.
If you want to try and fatten it up slightly, do a couple of timed cuts where it is, then a couple with it a touch fatter.
You'll know if you've taken it off it's sweet spot.

To really do a plug cut properly, you need a new plug, run it a bit and to cut the engine almost at full noise, or at least without any idling.
I just can't do that with a work saw.
Most here would die if they saw how lean we used to run kart engines, but we could also choke them at full noise at the end of a straight to give it a shot of cool mix too to prevent a seizure.

I really, really, really, really wanna go to Australia some day! I figure a year is a nuff time to see the whole Island right? Crap, now I just remembered I wanna see New Zealand too... Better make it a two year trip.

It'd give me time to practice my cockney accent too. :D

I hear hunting kanga at night is fun as heck!

Cheech, I like a little more cocoa color on my plug, but as long as your piston and cylinder aren't showing signs of excessive heat, you should be just peachy.

Do it. Your more than welcome and I'm sure you will get plenty of hospitality. You won't regret it. Your dollar value being 20% better also helps.
You could turn into a working holiday. Roo shooting is a good earner I hear.

Yep.
Mate I was harvesting with was roo shooting in Queensland with house and fuel supplied and the bucks were more than the average wage. He almost went back recently as he was finding it difficult to find work down in Victoria.
Can get more accurate details if you need.

If you don't mind? Can a "foreigner" like me do it too?

Why aren't more Aussies' knocking down the door to hunt roo's for cash?

Seems like a dream job, and the meat could be donated to the needy.

Not good on these things but I think you can get a working visa carntya?
Like any job Metals, it's just not for everybody.
I'll find out exactly what he was earning for you.

Aussie-envy aside I got some weird euc-like wood today called "paper tree".
The bark unravels off like sheets of paper but the wood inside is medium hard just like a species of eucalyptus. Anyone know what this really is? California coastal tree we even have a few in the parking lot at work. Second pic is the closest thing I found to Aussie red gum. A couple years old, super heavy and hard, dark red/brown bark has fallen off.

Henry, that bottom one looks like the one I had on my property.

And you're right, freaking heavy man. And it was seasoned too.

It gives Oak a run for its money in weight wet or dry.

Yeah out of a full stacked truck only about 15 pieces was the red stuff I would have killed for it all to be red. But then again the wood was free and this guys keeps helping me score free wood so its all good. He is re-doing his whole front yard in Oxnard and was glad to get rid of the wood. In return I told him whenver he needs some camping wood I will give him a nice clean mix of split almond, pine, euc and avocado.

I'd say your on a winner there Henry.

Now you have too try some Greybox or Ironbark.

I'll send some over for you to try.

That's what I like about Australia! If it walks, crawls, slithers, or hops... It's probably poisonous! LOL

Everything's an extreme there... Even the wood! All super hard species for sure.

We never find anything an issue as you learn to co-exist, but then the brown snakes around here in Summer are getting a bit pesty.

No sport in Roo shooting, it's straight out culling when spotlighting.
I've assisted a pro shooter a few times when culling on the FIL's place when we used to run it.

The $ have dropped around here too, too many licences issued means numbers available have dropped so quotas have been cut back to compensate.
OK for the weekend cowboy, not so good for the full time pro's.

The current talk is that licence fee's are going to be increased dramatically to cull the industry cowboys (this is in NSW)
You also need a properly setup and licensed rig for field dressing before arriving at a chiller, and the requirements vary according to HC (Human Consumption) and pet food use.
Much the same applies to pigs too.

Most all the boys around here have Land Cruiser or Patrol utes (pick-ups) setup for pig/roo hunting.
I think it freaks the city people and tourists out on weekends when they come up behind a ute on the Highway with a dozen carcasses hanging off it on it's way to the nearest chiller.

ive been told the HC rigs have to be stainless steel, while the PF can be Gal....also the shooters are accuracy tested periodically, along with age and sex id ability.....damn hope they dont raise the cost of it, its pretty much the only red meat i eat....

The HC stuff is much more tightly controlled and licensed, the weekend warriors tend to be shooting into the petfood chillers.
