In equipment we call it old iron. Can old iron be used to describe an old aluminum chainsaw?
Thought you might like to look at this pic of and old iron IEL. This is my saw, a model HB I believe.
Its a swivel saw. The rear handle/carb assembly rotates independent of the motor. (float carb).
IEL were made in Canada>Vancouver>B.C. They were sold to OMC in 1957 and became Pioneer chainsaws.

Interesting little saw, first thing I thought when I looked at the pic was how was that little glass/float going to work when you flipped the saw sideways to fell a tree... then I read your post.
