Without the gasket it hits, and its pushing 155 and hasnt seated the new ring

Does anyone have an IPL for the jonsered 90 ?
I scored a nice one this week but am having a bit of trouble finding out how the chainbrake works.... Most models I have seen pics off don't have the brake, but this one has, so I suspect it's a late version.

Yesterday at the GTG I had a tach put to my PP475 since it has been a little wierd getting it tuned in.
My question is do these use a limited coil on them and what is the Max RPMs supposed to be on it.
The tach went goofy after 11500 rpm and we tried another tach that read the same.
EDIT, I found that my service manual list 13500 as the max rpm, wonder whats up with it makeing the tachs go wierd after 11500

I just noticed that his IPL does not show a chainbrake version..... hmmmmm.....

The IPL doesn't show it, but it was a dealer installed option. I think it is basically the same setup as the 621 and 70E. There should be a little black, block looking thing just above the clutch drum. You can see this part in the IPL, but the handle and other parts are not in the IPL.
The mechanism is indeed simular to the one of the 621, but still different all the same. The metal frame of the shoe is wired to the coil....once the braking shoe is worn, it'll ground the ignition coil and shut off the saw.
The brake had broken parts (black block is cracked bad) so I could not restore it into its original working condition.
The former owner told me his dealer was not able to get her running because of a defect coil. I adjusted the points properly and .....vrooooaammm....hehe.
I had to adjust the carb fairly rich as it was obvious the crank seals are on their way out (air leak). Thanks again to Mark and PB for the help

If I remember from my 621 experiences, the ground was more intended to kill the engine when the brake was engaged. Not a bad idea in a case like this since the brake pad does not have near the engagement as a modern saw with a band.

after thinking bits over, I think you corrected me. That explains the small ball/spring set up connected to the kill wire...so it must be nearly the same system. :blush:

Yep, same idea. Kill the saw's ignition, not stop the chain. Roland I am not sure if all of those black box looking things are the same, but I am pretty sure I have half a dozen laying around somewhere.

Hey Guys, I have a '90 Johnnyred 2094. I'm trying to determine what bar came on it. My dad bought it new in '90 and I see that is has about 8 rivets in the anchoring of the tip. Thanks for any suggestions.:monkey:

Ever since I picked up my 820 last year I have been looking for a 2095 that I could afford.
I finally found one from an AS member and I love it. But I will be looking for a bigger bar it only has a 20" on it now.I will also need a new brake band the one thats on it now one of the bands inside is broke and the brake lever wont move. So if anyone has a bar and chain for sale or a sidecover please email me with a price

Mine came with an Oregon replaeable sprocket tip bar, there should be some info stamped on the heel of the bar and on the sprocket tip.

That XG is one fine looking saw, it should look right at home beside the Wright Rebel, same sort of vintage, similar product design and look, real classics in my opinion.
If you have to move out some yellow and black to make room for all these others just let me know.

I finally got some pictures of my 2095.Thanks to my new friend oscar4883 . Not only did he sell me a great saw he also went out of his way to pick up some parts for me. What a guy as soon as I am alowed to rep people you can bet on one from me

I got a 36" granberg milling kit in the mail today from baileys. Just had time to set up the bar and helper handle but got some pictures before the rain hit.
Thats a 50" bar, hella fun to swing around.
I figured these would be relevant to the interests of this thread?
I'm going to mill up that pine a felled a few pages back tomorrow. I'll see how the 2188 performs in milling duty.
