likity splitter help

Hi,

I have an old barn find Likity Splitter I got about a dozen years ago or so. I got it running back then and split with it for awhile, but it began acting funny. The ram wouldn't shift out of slow mode. I have been splitting what little wood I need by hand or borrowing a splitter for a day here and there since.
I'd like to get this thing working again, does anyone have manuals or insight into this old beast?
it is a 26MK52F serial number 5649. It has a kohler K181PT spec 30559d.

Perhaps the check valve between the high pressure and low pressure stages is stuck so the unloader valve does not trip. This is all usually internal to the two stage pump housing.

This is a single stage pump unit. It uses valving and a dual chambered cylinder to accomplish the 2 stage effect
