Yesterday my family and I went to a 4th pool party. My dad and mom were there too and this morning I got a call from dad, and for the fourth time in three years he was broken into while we were at the pool party yesterday. They broke in his work van and got his hand tool bag with about 1k worth of tools in it, but left $1500 more worth in a sliding drawer tool box :dizzy: They also got a John Deere push mower that pulls itself, and a T-18 Shindaiwa weedeater that was 26 years old. It is really a shame that you cant have anything without tying it down but it's just the way it is these days. They didn't get any of his chainsaws simply cause they were in the basement behind a steel door with a steel door frame and deadbolt. The police got some fingerprints off the back door of his van so hopefully they will get an ID, but I doubt they will. Some people don't believe me when I say I would kill someone in my house(ie. thief), but I would 100% shoot to kill if someone was in my house uninvited. Dad only lives about a mile and a half away from me.

Hate to hear about anyone losing their stuff to a thief. Only grabbing the easily carried items makes me wonder if one of ya'lls neighbors may have some "new" tools today....... The fact that it has happened multiple times before just supports the theory in my mind. Any "crackheads" in the area? Maybe a neighbor or family friend with a less than desirable kid? You ought to dig up Brad Snelling's old thread that earned him the name "chainsaw investigator".

I hate those bastards. Criminals should be punished by death.

Well my dad thinks it might be one of my aunts husband. He is a pillhead and he is the only one that was missing at the party yesterday and new my parents weren't at home from a certain time to a certain time, but accusing him would just cause a big stink in the family and result in more stuff stolen probably.

So what of it causes a stink in the family. A thief is a thief is a thief!:msp_angry:Family will rip you off too. Ask me how I know! Turn the law on to your suspicions. If they are worth a crap they can check his prints if they want to.

One of the best anti-theft stories I have heard of was at my friend's farm down in Selma, California. He got even with the thieves and eventually got them all caught. This is what he did.

His shop for the farm is about 1/4mile from his house. It it totally cyclone fenced in with 3 gates. The thieves always cut the lock with bolt cutters and entered from the same gate. After numerous attempts to catch the little bastards with no luck, my buddy got even. He dug a 6ft hole the width of the gate, filled it with water and covered it with 1/4 plywood and spread dirt over the plywood, masking the hole. It only took 2 days for his plan to work.

At 2am, his perimeter alarm went off and he found a brand new Chevrolet Silverado nose dived into the hole. There was no one to be found because the would be thieves ran like rats. The police came and impounded the truck. When the police went to the registered owner's house, they were surprised to what they found. The truck was owned by a very pissed off mother of one of the thieves. She not only gave up her son, but the other little dirtbags that were with him. When the police investigated the other perp's, they found lots of stolen farm equipment stashed in one of their garages, including stuff stolen from my friend's shop.

Trust me if it were me I would have already been to his house to check for my stuff. If the prints come back to him, dad will prosecute. There is just too much speculation.

If it's him, you all should do a number on him and then get the cops on him. Ban him from your life.

I would never shoot someone that was stealing from my rural property. However, if they are IN my house and I am IN my house I am going to make the assumption that they intend to do me or my loved ones great bodily harm and there is going to be a lot of paperwork and cleaning up to do. We ALWAYS have a loaded short barrel shotgun ready for the "worst case scenario" and I WILL use it on someone if they are IN my house. Crime can be a hazardous occupation. If they are on my property but not in the house, I will let my dogs loose and see what happens from there.

The biggest problem is that people in this country are too "politically correct".

The equal rights we take for granted should be deserved......and taken away if need be. Pubic hangings and severed hands should be a common event....

Yup. I bet if they done it like they used to a lot of these thieves would think twice before they decided they wanted something that wasn't theirs!

Exactly! I am not going to use deadly force unless they are IN my house. I will do my best to scare them to death if they are on my property, but I certainly don't want to go to jail because of some sorry thief.
