I've been eyeing one of those Dirty Hand Tools log splitters but would definitely be doing some upgrades on it. I picked up a Briggs v-twin 16/18HP (not sure which) engine that is in good shape and would be upgrading the pump to a 22gpm+ single stage for better speed. I'm interested in the two lever Prince full auto valve setup that I've seen others talk about, but am curious if that would be compatible with a regenerative valve. Do any of you guys know?

I'm also toying with the idea of using the beam from the DHT splitter, but mount it on a hinge on a real trailer that would have a work platform about waist height, and use a hand winch to tip it up for use and down for transport.

I figure it'd be cheaper to get a DHT splitter and use it as a starting point vs. sourcing the steel and all the parts to start from scratch.

I'm taking some ideas from this guy:

I don't want to mess with a vertical rising setup, I'll just have it tip up.
