The clutch bearing is not carrying any force, it is effectively free spinning so it doesn't take much in the way of lube to make it last a long time.
My manual says to use grease on the crankshaft when fitting a new seal, so residual grease helps even if only a thin film.

I always greased because I thought that is what the holes were for. Push some grit out.
Then I found the web and learned how stupid I am for wasting 15 seconds lol.

Because one matters and the other doesnt..
Reality does not support that at all. Sometime in the next week or two I'm sure I will have one to take a photo of and post what happens... regularly.

Matter of fact, I can keep it up until you are tired of looking at them.

I checked my Dad's 066 just before I sold it, and only the cage was there, not the bearings. The shaft was clean and no gouges or abnormal wear. I kept the saw opened up and let the buyer ( friend of mine) inspect it before I put it back together with a new bearing and a dab of grease. He was quite happy with it. I don't think Dad even knew there was a bearing there.
