Two questions...What do yall think of the Makita DSC510 and would I be ok to run a 24" skip tooth on it? Thanks!

50cc's 24" = No go. And it might help to get more answers if you post what kind of wood your cutting ect...

They are good saws.
24" with skip tooth will not be good. get a bigger saw. Even just oiling a bar that big for a 50cc saw will be a problem.

depending on what you're cutting 20" 3/8 and skip might not be a bad call.
If you want full comp 20" in hardwood I would go the .325 route
Either way consider changing over to rim sprocket it's like a $24 upgrade and will give you flexibilty.

I use a 16'' on mine and it does great. With that said I dont think in any way shape or form would it would pull a 24'' bar burried in hardwood.
If you are going to be using a 24'' very frequently it would be best to get a 70cc class saw. For occasional use a 60cc class saw would do if you dont lean on it too hard and have the oiler adjusted to the max. Just my .002.
