For those who are trying to run gensets, around here I've got about 100 gallons of gas. My 1/2 ton has 33 gallons, the wife's car has 18, the F350 has 40 in it, and the boat has 12 in it. Even though you can't siphon gas each one of those vehicles have a test port in the fuel injection, hook a hose to that port (they have a form of a schrader valve) and pump all you want out of the buggy. I forgot the Polaris Ranger, it's got 7 in it......

LOL - I meant in one piece!

Hopefully he refilled his viagra prescription before he got shut in, if not, well, shouldn't be any chance of any pop ups.;)

My generac runs on propane,it's a 17000 kw has a automatic transfere switch hard wired in to the house 200amp,dont need real often, but when I do it's really nice. And no gas to go bad ,or gum up.Yea the ole chimp is tough as a litier knot,he'll be ok for a few days, inconvienced, but ok.

im in good shape but many many folks in the county are not. I have been hopping trying to get saws repaired for folks that are having to cut there way out or clean up messes in the yard. im lucky to leave 150 yds off a main rd and my shop being in the city limits I was able to make it here. main rds are pretty clear but back rds are about hopeless right now.

Man i feel for you guys.i know what you all are going through.actually don't know how we dodged it what you got?that line of stuff was just touching the edge of my pointer on my radar and every bit of it went to the NE through Va.
Stay tough and keep those saws goin out the door.;)

One excellent survival tool for extended winter outages: Aladdin Mantle Lamp. Quart of kero goes for ~10 hrs, dumping up to 3200 BTU/hr, with light output like 40-60W incandescent.

Burns so hot and clean you can't even smell scented lamp oil. Been keeping a few handy for many years.

hope he gets the power back soon. We had lost power here last year in febuary from a ice storm for two days. that was long enough for me but I had a generator . I live just outside of Philadelphia.
