I have a McCulloch 5-10 with the full wrap handle but it is damaged. So far I have been unsuccessful at finding anyone out there that still has any NOS or good used parts they are willing to part with. I am trying to come up with a way to replicate the handle and have found a shop that can bend steel tubing to match.

My question for all of you is: How many would be interested in getting one of more of these for yourself as the price goes down with the quantity produced. Right now it looks like the material/labor cost for the basic parts would be around $30 each if I order 10 pieces or around $25 if i order 25 pieces, plus a bit of welding and drilling to make the completed handle.

Looking forward for your input so I know how many to order up the first go 'round. Keep in mind that this handle fits 10 Series saws only, the Pro Macs and Super Pros are different.

I guess if this is too commercial and gets me banned, I will see you all again somewhere out there.

Mark,

Will it fit a -10 series with the chainbrake? I'd really like to have on on my 7-10, but don't want to give up the brake. It has the earlier, smaller style brake assy.

Tim,

I have a 10-10 with the brake, not sure if it is the small cover or not. When I get back from Argentina I will try taking the one I have off the 5-10 and see if it fits the 10-10 with left hand start and brake assembly.

Since we're doing this from scratch, it should be possible to make it a bit wider if needed to clear the left hand starter and chain brake cover, but all of them will have to be the same since they will be formed on a programable tubing bender and I don't think I can afford two set ups.

I think there would be alot more interest if it would fit the PM700 style saws. I'll have to go look, though. I think that brake cover comes down pretty far in the front. Might not be practical for that one. I'm alot closer to my saws than you are to yours. Give me a few minutes.

@heimannm
New to the thread here, do you have any more of those 10-10 full wrap handles? I'm interested in one for mine. It's got the newer clutch cover, and I'm aware that it has to be modified. THANKS!

I am working with the vendor to finish up a new prototype that would work on either LH or RH start saws...they have been waiting on one step for several weeks now. Once I have some in hand I will certainly post a message in this thread. It can't hurt to check with me from time to time to keep this moving along.

The latest 10 Series full wrap handles for the rigid mount saws are now available. One version works on either LH or RH start saws, the other only fits the RH start saws. LH or RH start.

Here is one installed on a Pro Mac 10-10. Keep in mind that it will be necessary to modify the clutch cover for clearance at the bottom unless you have one of the early, non brake style clutch covers.

I initially notched the clutch cover above then discovered it did not need to be so severe as you can see below.

The short brake or non brake covers require more adjustment.

I modified this short, brake equipped cover for an earlier batch of handles but these are more flattened on the clutch side of the saw so they don't need as much clearance as the earlier ones.

RH starters and early LH start clutch covers clear without modification.

To be continued...

The clutch cover for the early LH start saws will also clear without any modifications.

Here are photos of the LH style installed on a Pro Mac 700, this fellow put some tape on the handle for a bit more cushion.

The other version will only fit the RH start saws.

It is close on the flywheel side but I can fit my big hand in.

If anyone is interested in either RH or LH start full wrap handles for the 10 Series saws please send a message.

They look great Mark! After seeing the 700 I'll be getting one for mine . Good corners on that handle , gas cap removal good?

Hi Mark just got my grandfathers old mc 700. The saw runs great but i found that the handle was cracked around the mounting holes im interested in one of your full wrap handles. Im curious about the mounting if it uses the same retaing brackets as the original half wrap handle. And then price and shipping costs. Thanks -Nick

Since the full wrap handles come together at the bottom they do not use the bracket, but rather the screws go through the handle as you can see in post #11 above. $75 + shipping, they fit nicely in a USPS Medium flat rate box for $15.50. For the PM700 you would have to modify the clutch cover as shown below.

Finally got my handlebar installed from one of the first runs of the full wraps from way back when. This saw was my favorite to run before, but I think it will be even more fun to run now! Haven't gotten to take it to the woods yet but I absolutely love the way it looks and feels on the saw! Thanks @heimannm for working to reproduce these full wraps, the new ones look slick!

Now you just need to get one of his chip screens for the recoil and it’ll be perfect!

I’m a rookie to the site and finally decided to sign up after seeing this post.
Obviously I’m kinda interested in full wraps for the 10 series.
Any info if these are still being made or if there are a few available?
Thanks

I have a new batch of LH start on hand, $75 + shipping. The latest ones have plugs in all the open ends of the tubing to prevent any creep or crushing over time.

I still have some of the narrower RH start available as well, $60 + shipping, these only have plugs in the vertical brace.
