IT turned out that only the first thread of the spark plug hole was a little off on my ms 460 ( I posted a few days ago about threads being stripped) and I examined the piston and the little mush mark on top didn't seem like a very big deal. its the size of a pencil eraser if not smaller.

So I gave it a compression test and it was close to 180 which is the highest of any saw I ever tested. I tested the gauge on my air compressor and the compression gauge reads the same as the gauge on my compressor so I'm pretty certain its working correctly.

Is 175 pounds high for a ms 460? Saw runs great.

And.....

My chain tensioner tries to push itself out when you tighten the chain. I think I am missing a piece but not certain. Could some one post a picture of their ms460 tensioner with the cover off so I can compare it to mine.

thanks.

175 is fine. Not sure how to post pictures with my cell phone. Only internet I have out here in the boondocks I call home.
