Hi guys,
Recently got myself a ms261cm to add to the fleet, been trying to find information regarding muffler mod and timing advance and if it worth doing??
Bugger all porters here in aus the ones we have are booked solid, so looking to get as much out of it myself as I can with a little guidance from here on what is a good recipe for this saw

Base gasket delete and advance the flywheel about 1/3 of the width of the keyway. Have to use a small file and file down the integrated keyway. Mine runs good like this, but you need to pull the starter cord swiftly, so it doesn't kick back. Higher compression and a little too much "start" timing cause this. I didn't mod the muffler, since it is a second gen saw/muffler, and I didn't want it obnoxiously loud.
