Ms290 coil on 461

What’s the difference in coils? Depends on the seller but some show the 1300 coil instead of 1314 being compatible.

The 290 coil is unlimited and fits the 461. It’s 2 screw coil rather than 3

The 1300 coils are known as “dummy coils”. No start retard, but they are unlimited.

Use decomp and pull like you mean it and the 1300 coil should work fine.

A Husky 395 decomp valve is much cheaper than the coveted 1128 1314 coil. It works just fine.

I use the 1314 coil in saws where no decomp valve can be fitted, like an original 044/046 hybrid conversion.

I just drill the decomp bleed port larger. 1/16” works on a MS880. [emoji106]

So it’s unlimited and I have a ton of ms290 coils. I have 066 ones to put on. Really should just sell the saw, I put half a tank through it last year if I’m lucky.
