My brother told me his father in law gave him a saw, a while back, and he has never even started it up. He has a JRed 920 that he loves. He has a big house and a huge Taylor stove, that eats a lot of wood. I am just wondering about parts availability etc. for the P39. Should he keep it for a spare saw, or sell it to someone that would like a high condition specimine of this model, and buy a spare 920/930?

You shouldn't have to worry about having to find parts for the P39 for a long time...especially if it's a low time machine. But, if you need them, there are parts available for it. You just need to know where to find them, and with the help of the guys on this site you'll find what you need.
