It runs!
Ok, I put all this great advice together, and I put some liquid wrench down the plug hole, moved the crank until the intake valve was open, put a lot more liquid wrench in there and let it sit for a while. Then I put some sae30 oil down the hole and started turning it over by hand and it was coming loose. I let it sit overnight again put it all back together and it fired up. Smoked like heck spitting junk all over the garage floor. I ran it for 5 minutes, split a couple pieces of wood, changed the oil and split for an hour. Gonna change oil again and see what it looks like coming out. The 1st time I changed it, the oil was full of metallic shavings, just like when I broke in a new gsxr 600 motor years ago, looks like metallic paint.
Going to try to attach a pic of my boys who help me move and stack the firewood. Good little buckaroos!
2 more thoughts on the splitter, 1. I wish it had a cradle, and 2. I wish the exhaust was pointed further away from me.....other than that, I think it does a good job for a $300.00 splitter. Yes, I picked it up for 300 a year and a half ago :msp_thumbup: In the pic is an old dead elm we just split, and its going straight to the wood room.
A new engine will have to wait for now.........Thanks to all !!!!!!
