need some stihl 025 help

Guy gives me a stihl 025 (older model) to repair. Won't start.
cleaned up the saw, rebuilt the carb, Compression is 145lb. Tank vent missing, put on new one. Noticed the fuel line has numerouis cracks, installed new fuel line. Only has a choke for starting, no primer bulb. absolutely, positively will not start with the pull rope. If I put fuel in the carburetor, saw will start and run. but the saw runs wide open, even the the throttle is on idle. I am guessing that might be a cracked intake boot????????

Did you do a leak test on the saw?
Possible causes:
-Intake boot
-bearing seals
-impulse line
-...

Have not tried too much yet. Just wanted to get some idea's what to look for.
