"Semi-retired" and moved up north in 2000. We heat mostly with wood (~90%) so we cut and split a lot of hard maple, beech and oak. I'm lucky as my wife enjoys working in the wood pile too. All of the beech trees are dying off so there is an endless supply of wood around here, my saws and splitter are holding up good but my body parts seem to be wearing out, however I was running the splitter 3 weeks after a new knee.
