I was ready to pull the trigger on a new 555 when another member in my other thread pointed out a super deal on a Jonsered that a dealer in Alabama had listed on Craigslist. I called and asked my guy, "How they can sell them that cheap?" He told me that they're (Husqvarna) closing out the Jonsered line. I may have misunderstood him, but I thought he said that the new red paint will be Red Max.

Anyway, he told me he could get me a new 2258 for $399. Well, that knocked the 555 out of the running. I told him to get me a 2258 on the way. He was going to sell me the 555 at his cost because he was wanting rid of them. $529 for the Husky, $399 for the Jonsered. I had to go red.

Jreds will probably be turned into home owner box store saws, buy, use ideas and down grade your competition. It's a shame what's happening to Jreds.

Jred brand is dead, Redmax is taking it's place, don't see them selling much.

Redmax isn't a hot name around here. Stihl, Husky, Echo and Poulan around here.
