hmm, im averaging 3 days a week with zero advertising, plenty busy and plenty of moneyWinter isn’t a very good indicator of things (at least not for me). Have to wait and see how things are going in the middle of this year to really tell.
I think in general it’s just a crappy business to be in. Too much ******** to go through just to try and make something sustainable out of it.
My advice to any new guys trying thinking about getting into it would “run, run while you still can… and never look back”.
Maybe open a laundromat… a package store.. strip bar, hotdog stand.. anything but this pinhead occupation!

we only have 3 guys on a big job, plus crane operator, ZERO overhead, and nobody here cares how fast a job goes
hell, 90% of my jobs im done by 4pm, unless its time for the 881 to come out or im doing 30+ trees its a day job so get over it

bigger equipment is nice of course, I also dont have payments, you?I use to run a 12 inch chipper and had smaller skid steer like yours. I upgraded both of them. Production has more than doubled. You may be a talented tree guy but your equipment is JV.
