Usually machinery that is running too hot will smell.

If you are familiar with the machine you will know its running too hot.
You will also know when your running it too hard.

What would make you ask??

Yup, I built a temporary for daily use and also purchased a used original for the heck of it.

As for my dumb question
I normally don't run a saw long enough to worry about getting it too hot but I thought I would see if there was anything special I should know before I burn something up. :D

Along this line of thinking...I took apart a parts Jred 670, and the piston & ring are shot, but the inside of the jug appears?? okay. The cooling fins, however, are really, really discolored. I'm guessing that jug got baked big time. Any thoughts?

Thanks! Chris J.
