mount the bar on the saw and run a string around it and the drive sprocket just like it was the chain, then lay the string next to the right pitch chain and use it to "calibrate" the string with length between drive links. Do it with the bar mounted in both extreme positions of the slot and you should get a good idea of correct DL count.

$100 what a buy! I have one that looks just like it with a bad cylinder. I miss running that old girl, plenty of grunt. Be carfull with the plastic block the carb bolts to. They crack easily if over torqued.

I remembered that I had put a new 28", 3/8, .058, 92 link chain on my Mac SP70 a few months ago. I took it off and it fit perfectly on the P41 with the 28" bar. I ordered another but a skip version for the Pioneer from Frawleys.

I have a good running P39 and a farmsaw. Another Farmsaw with a cylinder I screwed up going to aggressive in my early porting. And p40 in need of a cylinder. That 41 was my favorite.

Would some of you know which is the thread size of the bar nut?
I am living in europe, so i am not familiar with the american stuff.

However, the 5/16ˇis around 8mm? Right?
Mine has a thread diameter of 9,5x mm. From my calculation it is 3/8" :O
Does it seem to you right? Or somebody changed the studs to a wrong one?

Yeah 8 mil would be proper . The stud may have been altered .

Do yoy have any idea about the thread pitch? Or just try both unf and unc. I think it is not metric

As I said oem is not metric , if its been changed out then you will have to check the threads & pitch accordingly . The oem studs were UNC .

You can make one , from sheet 1/1/6 neoprene rubber for border and air filter material for center area , hot glue gun works, Amazon has the materials, use stainless washers for center hole ,

I was looking for a filter upgrade to k&s or similar. However i do not want drill out my air filter cover.

Yea , I use UNI or K&N filter material to make them , use there filter oil to , if you decide to go that route,

I will try a hq 61 filter holder and filter or hq 372 x-torq filter holder with the HD filter, however with this route i need to 3d print a cover
When i will there i would like to share my results
