Are you sure your piece is damaged? I think it's done like this...he wrote back to use glue from the window seals / the rubber is detached from the metal

Try an untrasonic cleaner. Soapy cleaning solution might break it up and out.2 meshes are on one half of the filter / the other half lies beneath it
