Hello, I work on a small farm in New Brunswick, Canada. We are trying to decide if we should try and tranplant our trees right now or to wait until the fall starts to set in. If you could reply to me at [email protected] and tell me when we could start to transplant, you would be a great help.

Thank you

Transplanting trees is very stressful on them. They lose over 90% of the tiny thread-size feeder roots when dug up. The tree usually lives on stored reserves untill it can grow new feeder roots. By waiting untill the temps cool off a little, the tree won't lose as much water during the day through transpiration. I'd wait untill daytime temps are topping out at 80-85 degrees or less.
