Posted this in the Poulan thread, too ..

Had not yet cut with the saw since I got it.

At the IN GTG yesterday, chain didn't seem to be getting enough oil. I had made earlier cuts that seemed fine. Set the saw aside to sort out today.

I know nothing of the Poulan Pro bar, other than it has a .404 sprocket nose on it.

Does someone know the specs on this 36" bar? The numbers off it are:

952-044356
3663 8019 GQN
Made in Canada

Thanks!

While mine is apart I investigated the oil pump. Screw adjusts the output. Makes about 2 1/4 turns in/out. Check the pickup line isn't rotted off. Mine was.

Sorry, I'm no help on the bar.

Thank you, Carl. A couple of the gents over in the Poulan thread have helped me assemble a task list for this week. Checking the lines is one of the items. I'll report back later this week.

Model RA chassis cleaned up.

Took the bare crankcase/fuel tank/handle to the local automotive machine shop for a trip thru their parts washer.

Took two ten minute wash cycles and a ten spot. Solvent is like water base carb. cleaner.

Three aluminum castings welded together. Cool old school design.

Don't you love that old Pioneer paint?

What paint? There wasn't much there before we washed him.

Yes, the insides. We be lookin' for a crank, rod and wrist pin. Crankpin is trashed as is the wrist pin and bearing.

Do you know the part # on the crank/rod? I have a couple of NOS Pioneer crank/rod assemblies and don't know what they go in.

I contacted a seller on CL who had some Poulan and Pioneer NOS bars advertised and happened to ask him if he had any saws to sell. He indicated he had a Partner P 100 but when he sent the pictures it turned out to be a Pioneer P-65. Life is good, I have acquired a Poulan 655 and a Pioneer P-65 in the past 30 days.

The joke's on you. Apparently your somewhat left leaning government has declared the large Pioneers as weapons of mass destruction. They are to be repatriated to Canada. None to PEI however.
