Poulan 306a porting

Ok I've never ported a chainsaw but I do work on them quite a bit. I was just wondering has anyone done a port job on a 306

It's looking like the max rpm on this saw is about 6,500. The exhaust port is very large as it is. It's open port.
In my opinion if there is a larger carb and reed valve that fits it, then I'd go that route, along with advancing the timing.
It just my opinion. I can't wait to see it when you're done.
