I doubt it makes any running difference. The only problem I can see is the purge lines are tiny .08" x .14" and may not evacuate air as well, making starting harder. When I re-do Poulan fuel lines, I drill out the fuel supply tank hole (under air filter) and use 3/32" x 3/16" line (same as purge line) for fuel supply. I don't mess with the .08 anymore - I hate that line.
