can anyone explain to me what a pulse line does..?? where does it go to and from and what problems it can cause if the line is defective..... thanks....

A pulse line is to actuate you fuel pump. It leads from the crankcase to the vac diaphragm in the carb. The most common problem is that the line cracks and causes a lean condition in the motor.

Some saws like Huskys have it inside the intake manifold.

I just got a 044 in. The guy said he thought maybe it was blown, it was screaming and it sounded like it was sucking for air.
I tore it down and the impulse line was not attached to the crank case.
I called him back, "yeah it's blown."
