Questions For CTG organizers

Some have expressed interest in having a CTG here in West Central Illinois this spring.

I thought I might jump start this by offering to help with it.
So....I have some questions as I've never been to one.
What "games" do you play?
Timed cuts on various sized rounds, I presume. What else?
Do participants expect to pay for food or is it usually furnished?
Is Saturday or Sunday the best day to have it?
What about insurance?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as we go along.

Last one I went to, somebody brought venison tenderloin and salmon steaks.

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!

Just got off the phone with my insurance man and he told me insurance for a one day event like this would cost maybe $300.00! AND...it would only cover spectators. Participants would all have to sign waivers.

Nuthin is ever simple anymore....is it?

I would imagine it would be the same as it is out at the gun club. One of these days I need to stop by and chat with you about a couple of ones I am after.

Bill, a 2 million dollar liability policy only costs us $525.00 a year at the gun club!
That's a lot different than $300.00 for ONE DAY.
Perhaps I should call that company and see if this kind of event would be covered or, if not, a rider could be added.

I was hoping that others that have put on this kind of event would chime in with advice.
