Any tips and tricks for removing a tolliston hl159a carb from a remington saw? 11mm and 7/16 are alil sloppy but thinking 13/32 or 27/64? Can get them to break free but not enough turn to get the wrench back on to continue. Thanks!

Thanks that's what I did now im stumped on gaskets. The cork one has 3 holes? Is that gonna be a problem. Also did you have to make a special 5/16 socket to remove this. And one last thing hahaha is this cap necessary to remove and replace? I seen video where guy drills it out like you would a rivet and replaces it. I think he removed it to clean some passageways??? Thanks maintenance supervisor. I got the top half rebuilt already.

I got the gaskets sorted out now I have to turn down a deep well 5/16 socket and grind down an ignition wrench. Is it critical to remove that brass piece that the 'needle' floats in? Original was plastic new one is metal. Saw would only run on gas poured into carb and wasn't pulling gas from tank. Thanks!

Wow came across this old print ad on eBay says pricing includes 13" roller nose bar. That must of been one mean torque monster saw with that tiny bar.

Does anybody know what the oregon rim sprocket part number would be for a 3/8" pitch/.050 for converting the original .404 .063 one. I have a 240rndd196 bar my dad had laying around and want to convert it to that. Thanks guys!

Does it currently have a rim drive now?

It has this set up a 2 piece a clutch drum and a rim sprocket. I'm having trouble cross referencing part #'s that are almost 60 years old. Thanks!

There's 2 standard size rims ,one 3/8ths and the other .404 . You can literally just take the 3/8 off and put a .404 on or vice versa.
Or do you need the whole drum set up ? For which saw btw?

Remington super 754 The saw runs fine and the drum is in good shape. Just don't want to put to many miles on the original 21" roller tip .063 bar. Seems like you have to buy a burnt up saw with an original bar in order to get a roller tip bar. Tomarrow or Sunday me and the old man are going to finish the felling spike from the template. We just have to drill and tap the mounting holes. I will post pic when it's done and on saw.
