Do you have a scrap piece of saw that you could drill and tap to see what happens with the 6.0 and 7.0 to see how the fitting screws in before trying it on the Remington chassis.
yes i can, still looking into a reducer fitting or helicoil for that messed up 1/16 x27

1/16 npt is 5/16 standard? Going down the rabbit hole now :crazy2: keep us posted on the fix. Waiting on @Maintenance supervisor to set us strait.

I do have a pretty large collection of old thread/ pitch guages but I don't have the fitting handy...
I can dig out my guages this weekend probably, been a interesting week at work with old things coming apart.

The carter nrd was touch and go there for awhile. Had it apart 4 or 5 times before I got it running I had a gasket left over and had to modify a gasket they sent me to match exactly as the original. I hope I don't have to get back into the carb to adjust the metering lever.

I have that fitting you were talking about if it's a 90 with the check valve in it. I yanked it out of a sl 10a. Looks to be the same as my pl4s and sl 11a. Not sure if it helps but I don't need it if you need one for anything I can mail it to you.

Yea it was touch and go there for awhile I learned alot on the carter nrd. I would say it's my least favorite carb to work on so far. Had an extra gasket plus the carb mount gasket was missing a hole and then I had a leak on a another gasket. Couldnt remove and didn't know how to remove the needle and the kit didn't include the oring for the needle or Welch plugs, looked like special tool needed to remove that plastic part the needle was in. I had carb on and off and apart 4 or 5 times. Thanks maintenance supervisor!

Some rebuild pics and issues. I managed to remove the brass rivet by drilling it out 1/8" bit and reinstall the new one. I had to go buy a nail setter to bell out the bottom of rivet to reinstall tightly.

Had to fabricate a filter for the 660 out of a older style briggs and stratton filter element and a sock pre-filter. Those Remington filters are non existent anymore these days. I will have to make something different down the road and maybe try that uni filter thing @Woodslasher was talking about.
