Certainly handy for the right crowd. I do like that's it's quiet !!
It seems to be a rack and pinion with flywheel like other kinetic splitters. Looks like it overloaded and shut down when it did not get a full cycle after the second attempt. Was wondering if it would use the design like a battery nail gun.

Interesting, but about 2 feet too low of a working height.
My old home built Briggs and scrap em from 1973 will out work and out last this over engineered, China built boat anchor that is destined for the recycle pile in a few yrs. YMMV
It's like battery electric saws - this battery electric splitter definitely isn't for everyone, but the answer to prayers for the right people. For the intended market, the only improvement I see is that it needs a plug in adapter for continuous use.
My 5 ton 120v electric over hydraulic splitter does much better than I expected it to. I'm intrigued with this battery electric splitter, and glad to see the tech being explored - that's the only way it improves.

Pretty cool, but I think I'll stick with the axe/maul/wedge (for really tough ones.)
I'd love to see how it does on a knotty piece of hardwood, multiple knots in a union, or on a swirling piece of madrone.
