Have had this off brand blower for 3 years. Ran it a week ago. Tried to start it this afternoon but I could not even pull the starter string. Pulled about an inch and then no give at all.

Pulled spark plug to see if it was a pressure lock on cylinder. Still could not pull.

Finally took the pull starter off. Could not hand rotate the shift leading into pull string.(no surprise)

Took a pipe wrench and after some fighting , got it to move one full turn. More fighting amd one more turn.

Put the pull starter assembly on again, pulled and it turned over. Couple more cranks and it started. Ran for an hour no issues. Turned it off, refilled with gas, started without issue.

But what would this super hard lock on the cylinder / not moving when cold indicate? Cylinder problem? Wrong gapping on starter magneto (magnet sticking )?

It is an 80cc engine so its a hoss. Definitely an odd duck and they don't even sell this model any longer (found another one sold in Asia with different color plastic and a completely different brand name.). ...Schroder has a 90.9cc one on their web site now.
