Why? need an extra person in vehicle. My luck, I would rig something up to keep vehicle running and it would take off on me.
I think the car only needs to idle.
Friction driven. I’m guessing a jack stand on one side and this thing on the other..totally sketchy.

No jack stand would be needed if you have an open differential.

Till the load on the screw sends some of the power to the other wheel and that thing tries to drive forward...unless the nature of a screw splitter takes very little torque to work?
There are many different versions of it, some pto, some w/motor, etc. All are rather dangerous.
I’ve seen pto and engine driven types along with the ones that bolt to the hub of a vehicle but never one with no actual connection to the power source. I wonder what kind of gears or chain are under the skins.
Also..he wants $200 for it.

Pretty clever, actually. At least you don't have to take the tire off and bolt one to the lugs as I've seen.
