And I have to say that I don't hate it! I know there have been a few reports of how crappy the welds were and that it bent after several uses, but I gambled the money because I have LOTS of ash to split. Most of it is 6"-12" dia. It's like any tool you buy, you have to know its limitations. The first thing I did was sharpen the wedges because they had no edge at all. So far it's worked quite well and has saved me a bunch of time......at least until I get a Super Split

They have their uses, like any tool. Some are built better than others. We bought a 4-way wedge with our splitter; it's been a tough one. Made the mistake early on of trying to split gum with it. The wedge survived the ordeal but I wouldn't try that again.
