Hello Fellas: Here is my splitter parts inventory so far: 5"x24" ram, Briggs 8HP engine, and soon 16gpm pump. Now......I asked around locally about up-sizing Detent control valve to 3/4", as well as psi lines to/from ram. Will this decrease cycle time??? I assume it will have no help on tonnage, but I think it will help cycle. I was told I was wrong, it will have no effect on speed......I dunno about that........So here I am asking the pro's. Thanks, Bruce

There will not be a significant reduction of cycle times unless all ports and fittings are also 3/4". Even with all 3/4" hoses and fittings cycle time may only be reduced by a second or two.
The larger hoses will reduce friction, lessoning the buildup of heat.
